No Gorath, of course not. I was just joking. But the Thread title was if the Gothic series will ruin the ES series so i gave a possible way that could happen. Don't worry i'm sure that i, as an old RPG'ler, will certainly buy Oblivion too but certainly not immediately when it's out.

I think there's an equal amount of RPG-ers that thinks exactly the opposite way. There just not here but on the Morrowind forums.

Even if you dont like their games, I dont understand why you would want to ruin one of the few RPG makers we have left. The industry is already choking on its own blood without its fans turning against it.

IMHO Oblivion will be a much greater success than G3 although it will perhaps not be the better game (for us Goth's for sure) - so there's no way that G3 will ruin Oblivion. And i think that Oblivion will appear a little bit earlier than G3 so that could be an advantage for ES4. The question will be if the gothic series will at last leave it's underdog status behind and if it will be able to widen it's fanbase even more (I'm sure it will).

Btw, only two days left and then we'll get new info about both games on the E3.

While Gothic 1 and 2 did not ruin The elder scrolls morrowind from a marketing standpoint. (Which is all most publishers care about anyways) I was more refering to immersion. The Gothic world was so alive. Morrowind wasnt to me. Kinda seemed plain and dull. Allthough i did enjoy the book shops some of the storys were interesting.

But the game in general just didnt compare. I had loads of Fun Playing gothic, While morrowind got very boring very quickly.

Im just hoping it will not be the same with the Elder Scrolls 4.
