| How do I make a good mage? |

I think the title explains itself. Should I train in combat at all? how should I distribute my stats? when do I get my first runes? How do I pass the test of fire when I have no combat skills because Im saving my points for magic? etc etc etc...

You posted in the wrong forum I think. Train your combat skills before taking the test as these will cost you double once you are a mage. Keep 10 lp back for the test. I would suggest marksman in bow or xbow and fighter in 1H or 2H (your choice). Train strength at least to 30. Never needed to train more than that. I used potions for the rest. Learn alchemy so you can make the potions of dex and strength. Would suggest you keep as many points as you can reserved for mana. You don't need many spells. I used light, fire arrow, large fire ball, destroy undead, rain of fire, ice block, wave of ice and the final spell holy missile. Look through the books in the library and think about it before deciding. There's about 15 blank runes in the game and far more spells to choose.
