Blue's News is <a href="http://www.bluesnews.com/cgi-bin/board.pl?action=viewthread&threadid=57392" target="_blank">reporting</a> that Strategy First has announced a new 'Disciples II' bundle that is going to include all the content of the Gold pack (i.e. original game + all expansion) plus a few all new campaigns and content. |

Looking at Strategy First's site they don't list the expansion Rise of the Elves as part of this new bundle, so it actually might not be everything you get in the gold pack.
This seems like a very strange and annoying marketing idea to me. It makes it so there is more than one Disciples 2 "collection" available but neither one contains everything. I already own the regular game but I was going to buy the gold pack soon for the expansions. Now this comes along with some new content not in the gold pack and missing 1 expansion. Guess I'll have to find out whats better: Rise of the Elves or this Gallean's Return exclusive content.
Also does anyone know what this means? : "This content is also a subset of the Disciples II Gold edition" quoted from the story on Blue's News |

um before this, there were 3 " expansions' for disciples 2. but the onyl true expansioin was rise of the elves.. and really, its just 1/3 the length of the orignal game. It adds 1 new race and 1 new campaign although it is excellent. but its not as long as the regular game so even its not worth buying really. The other two expansions were total bs they were extra maps and such you can download for free
and whats extra stupid ok, is this gold edition is actually 4 different cds all with disciples 2 on it lol just each one with different added campaigns. I mean its not like they couldnt put all the stuff on 1 cd or something its like a collector thing.
this new thing i dont know. but yes they marketed this game really making it a collector thing for hardcore fans, while i dont think thats evil i think its not what im into lol.
When you look at the fantasy art in this game... you realize it takes a long time I mean thats whats really cool about it actually, theres a huge amount of time put into making this game. I look forward to disciples 3 but I can guarantee you its not going to be the same its going to be modern 3d graphics not the like 10000 hand drawn animations in this old school game.
The game itself I had 100s of hours of fun with so I dont mind that. I just wish there actually was a full scale expansion for it, like 3 new campaigns and more races and what have you. There isnt. And they even sell you the non expansion semi expansions 5 different times lol.
So if you didnt buy and disciples 2 id say go get rise of the elves its cool. but if you already have disciples 2.... rise of the elves is just 1 more campaign... so maybe not. |
