Gothic was not programmed properly for XP. I runs well on 98SE though. But downgrading from XP to 98SE, just for Gothic, is definitely NOT worth it.

You are so very, very wrong. I am running Gothic on XP - have played the game through 3 times now (along with a variety of partial play throughs) and have had NO bugs problems and NO crashes.

I beat the game and it never crashed, nor did I experience a single bug. Ever.
