After choosing 4 characters (took me about 10 minutes)I start the game. Everything is fine and I begin to enjoy Might and Magic 9. But when I try to press an inventory button 'I' game freezes for 2 minuntes every time I do it. It looks like some kind of bug or something and it is really annoying.

If anyone got any ideas to deal with it, I will appreciate.
Thx for your help.

well, not XP, since I am running MM9 on XP without problems.

Could you specify your system (graphics card, processor, ram)?

Nearly identical system, and I have not had a single problem as of yet, at least with freezes/crashes/slowdowns.

(Athlon 650, GeForce2-MX, 256 RAM, SB Live Value)

I'm using Hercules 21.81 drivers. I assume you've done the driver dance already, but we're obligated to ask.... Also assume you installed DX8.1. Beyond that, I'd check to see if you have a bunch of TSRs running in the background.

Thx everyone. It's running just fine now and I don't know why. I just made sure I had directx 8.1 and latest drivers, I guess that helped.

Time to enjoy the game, I think it is great.

Universal law! Problems are only repeatable until help arrives.

When you press "I", make sure one of your four PC party members are highlighted. If one of your NPC's is active, the game just sits there and does nothing since you cannot access any NPC inventory.

I'm embarrassed to admit how long it took me to realize that.

glad to know my prob isn't XP-related, (OS=XP, athlon1800, Geforce1ddr, 256ddram) though I hate the fact that I'm no closer to a solution. all the reviews are driving me mad! I wanna play the darn game!
