Elder Scrolls 4 (X360): Interview @ Xbox.com

The official Xbox.com site has an Oblivion interview from Bethsoft's Todd Howard. Keep in mind this is Microsoft's own Xbox site and the purpose of the article is clear:
Xbox.com: Anything you'll be able to do with the game on Xbox 360 that just wouldn't be possible anywhere else?

Howard: Hmmm, I guess it's more about the fact that we can do it all and not really have to cut corners. So for instance, in the PC version, depending on your PC, there's a part of it you won't be seeing in all its glory, but on the Xbox 360, you get it all. Please, everyone, buy an HD set ... just please.

That was one of the worst interviews i have read on this or any other game. The interviewer was pimping the xbox 360 so hard i thought he was having an affair with it. And Todd wasn't that much better. I can see future TES games being console only. I really do.

The fact that they removed objects casting shadows is ironic.

The rumour is the XBox 360 couldn't handle it so they removed it from the PC version as well in order to please MS.

not having an HD TV and XBox 360 is just as bad...

I love the one-sidedness there, but yes, we were warned. If you can afford an HDTV and XBox 360 you probably can afford a PC that can run this game at least as well if not better. To make matters worse, 1080p (the best resolution) is still a small fortune. A good dual card PC setup could do that resolution probably better than the 360 - and you could probably do it for cheaper than the ~$3500 (USD) 1080p monitors were running for around Christmas time (yes monitors - TVs with tuners cost even more). 1080i and 720p were cheaper, but either the resolution is worse or you pay for the better resolution with interlacing.

Incidentally, the only person I know with a 360 has a large projection TV, but not HD, so they get a sub-optimal experience... yay. Just because someone owns a 360 does not mean they own an HD-TV.

Agreed on the Xbox positiveness, that was kind of funny actually. What he said about the clever AI and poisoned apples was even funnier though . I'm not the violent type, but I really have got to try that.
