more guild structural progression

I loved the way you could work for the differant camps and progress through the ranks...which opens new opertunitys and quests etc...

But i think it was cut short a bit in G1...

Will this change in G2? will i be able to work my way to the TOP of a guild?

I can only say that they are planning for a Gothic III.

You WERE on the top of all guilds when you had completed the game. You were the most powerful man in the colony and everyone were afraid of you. You can say you were on the top of all guilds even though you weren't formally "elected" as one .

Ahh, there you are wrong, my child. The "invincible" people was stronger then you, my son. Don't go over to the dark side and think that you are all powerfeul, my young knight.

Yes, in Gothic 2 there are more side quests, lots of them depend n which guild you joined, so even more reasons for playing gothic 2 six times

I don't think so, but you'll still have the choice of which Guild you'd like to join.

No, not really. You'll get promoted once. If you're through that people will pay more respect and you might get access to locations you weren't allowed to enter before. You, however, do not become some sort of leader in the guild.

Hmm.. I think that's what Spunior means by "promotion" in guilds:

[SPOILER: To view, highlight text.]
-----------------------------------------------------------------
mercenary ==> dragon hunter
militia ==> paladin
novice ==> magician of fire

-----------------------------------------------------------------

And no, I don't think you can "reach for the top." This is not Morrowind, where you can be, let's say, the "Arch-Mage" of the Mages' Guild and the "Knight of the Imperial Dragon" of the Imperial Legion. Also, I think the plot will be "broken" if you can be the head of the guilds.

Thanks for the spoiler Kiwi Boy. I have always wondered how you become a Dragon Hunter.
