    Go straight down the middle.

Try not to hit the red things on the sides.

But do try to go over the flattish things in the road.

Watch the indicators at the bottm (>> ). When it gets full (>>>>>), hit the space bar to rev up.

You usually lose the first race, even if you win it. Someone else beats your time. But if you win the second, you got it. Maybe even the third instead.

The swoop race on Taris is not too hard to do because you have a "suped" up bike. As Silkenkidden says .... you need to use the speed bumps well and remember to shift gears at the appropriate times.

There is more or less a "correct" path to take - try and memorise the layout of the speed bumps. You don't need to hit every one of them to win, but there is a way to go over the majority of them.

By the way, the swoop races on Tatooine and Manaan are much harder to win. Simply because you don't have a "suped" up bike for those. Those races are optional though. You don't need to do them to complete the game.

The monetary award for being galaxy swoop bike champ is nice though

Tell me about them. I thought I was a swoop bike champ after Taris. Then I got wiped out on Tatooine and Manaan. I wish I could "supe" up my bike there. I've given up on bike racing as a way to raise money.

And since I lose 3 out of every 4 hands of Pazaak, that is slow going. But I manage to make some money by saving the wins and restoring the losses.

its easy to win a swoop race just boost whenever possible and then DO NOT HIT any obstacles. You're sure to win!

I eventually won all three, but the Tatooine race was the hardest. The most important thing is to not hit the obstacles, as aidzvill said. Then you you only need to hit many of the boosters, not all. The gear part is the least important, but still it's nearly impossible to win if you aren't at least average at it.
