need help on valley of mines!!

After I enter to the castle in the valley of mines the Chief Paladin ask me to go to the 3 mining places but I couldn't talk to Silvestro Paladin because he is dead (they are all dead) , I only found a note on his body about someone called Diego and that he has the ore. The problem is that I cannot complete the mission because when I talk again to the Chief paladin I seems that something if missing, I doesn't mention the note o that silvestro is dead. Can anyone help me? Thx!

The other problem is that I wrote down in my journal that someone in the castle (i dont remember his name right now) will help me to become stronger but when I talk to him It says nothing about that. Did someone have the same problem?

When you go out of the castle on your way to the two mines close to eachother. You go to the right from the castle and just follow the road (unless you have to evade orcs). Keep following the road and stay right. Keep going right and you'll also get to the two dead knights with Diego guarding the ore. I hope you can find it.

About Brutus (that's the guy that can teach you strength). You might need to do a quest first. In this case you must pay him 200 gold and then he'll teach you.

Well, mariachi, if Diego has the ore, you obviously need to go see him. They other forum members have already given you sufficient directions.

Using the map of the ore mines that Garond gives you would have been much easier and less trouble.
