Vi and going where she doesn't want to go ...

Okay, I had to kick Vi out of the party to get to Bayjin ... got there, then right before entering the sea caves I teleported out, got her again and teleported back. Since then she's been really pissy (understandable) ... however I noticed that her divine magic skill (and more importantly) her earth magic skill took a major nose dive. Is this 'cuz we are in an area she doesn't want to be in, or 'cuz she left then rejoined?

It's because she doesn't want to be there. When you leave, her stats will go back up. NPCs take major penalties due to their fear and anxiety when in an area that they don't want to be in.

Thanks Val. I was worried about that one. Hopefully I'll clear the dratted caves out quickly and get the poor woman outta there. She really *does* appear to be stressing. Good job of design ... once again.

She IS one of my strong ones. Crikey, she's got more kills than any other party member bya long shot.

I am verrrrrry careful with the fireball spell! The rest of the party has considered throwing the mage to the wolves a few times thanks to a fireball going off a little TOO close to the party!!

There's nothing wrong with having the fireball go off behind your enemies.

You'd think after tangling with the Dark Savant and living to tell of it, that a few fishmen and rapax would be no trouble for Vi...

You would, wouldn't you?

Guess that bit had to be sacrificed to the gods of game balance *grin*

Actually it kinda makes sense, the worst fears are the irrational ones we pick up when very young.
