It's got prestige classes and subraces, as well as new feats and skills. It will make the game what it was originally supposed to be. And let's face it, BioWare supports the shit out of this game. I'll buy it.

I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to SPEED around a city, keeping its SPEED over fifty, and if its SPEED dropped, it would explode. I think it was called, "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down."

Even if it's just the core prestige classes and FRC subraces it will change the way the game feels immensely. I love prestige classes and subraces. They're my favorite parts of 3E.

Please forgive my ignorance, but can someone illuminate me on "prestige classes"? I think the idea of Harper Scout sounds extremely cool. Is it just the class equivalent of a subrace?

Not really - they are basically advanced classes. You cannot start as a prestige class as they all have prereqs such as a certain feat or a certain number of ranks in a skill.

E.G. in order to become a Harper Scout (in the PnP game) you must be of any non-evil alignment, and have the following ranks in these skills Bluff (4), Diplomacy (, Knowledge Local (4) Perform (5), Sense Motive (2) and Wilderness Lore (2) and you must have the alertness and Iron Will feats. You must also be sponsered by an existing member of the Harpers. I suspect some of these requirments won't make it into the game but from this you can get the general idea that you need to have some levels of another class under your belt first (in this case the best combo would be Ranger/Bard. Some Prestige classes require a certain base attack bonus so you will need to be a minimum level. They just add spice really.

Thanks for the info. I assume achieving any prestige class comes with some kind of upgrade in abilities as well, right?

Upgrade is a strong word. Prestige classes aren't better than base classes (well, some of them are... these are generally acknowledged as 'broken' in the D&D community (I usually don't agree with that assessment)).

They do provide new and unique power to a character that someone who doesn't take the prestige class will never get.

For example (I doubt they're in the game) a Shadowdancer has the power to Hide in Plain Sight. As long as they're within 10 feet of a shadow they can hide, even while being observed. Additionally, they can teleport through the shadows, summon shadow allies, and get a host of rogue like advanced powers.

As a trade off, their sneak attack doesn't increase and I don't think they get as many skills as a Rogue does.
