NotR Weapon Question

Since we English don't have it yet, (although things are looking up ) I was just wondering what type of weapon Beliar's Claw is, aside from it's special abilities. Is it a 1 or 2 handed? Since it is a spoiler forum, you could give more info if you want, but I'm just curious about 1-2 handed. Thanks.

Well that's the good part of the weapon. When you are better in one-handed it will be a one-handed sword and if you're better in two-handed it will be a two-handed weapon.

The special is that is does random lightning damage. You can increase the strength of the sword and the hit-chance of the special damage by praying at a Belia's shrine and giving up some hp's in exchange for a higher level of the Beliar's Sword.

beliar's claw

That's curious. So you'll pray to both Innos and Beliar?

@Sem

For debugging purposes, the dialog for praying is donate 1,2,3 hitpoints to Beliar. But it seems to actualy take 1,5,10 hitpoints away. In order that the text matches what the truth is, can you please tell me if you already have the Claw?

The add-on dialog has bugs from the official release, we are correcting them as we catch them. It does say 1, 2, 3 but seems to take away 1, 5 , 10 I do not know if it is because I have no Claw. Maybe with the claw it is less...THX

W are still getting the Translation cleaner to read. This is still a beta for now. (a pretty good one, but we will make it as perfect as possible).

Sorry, only know that from german websites. But I believe you will get something for the loss of hp too, even without the claw of beliar. Just the same as praying to Innos.

oddly, it does not give you anything for praying to Beliar. You lose 1,5,10 and no improvement to weapon skill at all.

This I hope is not a bug using the English -German combo. I think it is not. I read somewhere that praying at Beliar improves you skill and lightning magic damage the Beliar Claw does only.

As for mages are in the stick. The whole add-on ocurrs only through chapter 1 and 2. I would have thought that they might of 'spread it out' over a few more chapters.

You're probably right about that praying to Beliar.

What do you mean with "As for mages are in the stick."

I prayed to Beliar and gave him 3 hp, and he did take 3 hp and gave me 14 damage

Then I gave him 1 mana and I got 500 gold coins, when I tried that again he gave me 14 damage.

First, you need to have the weapon. You have to have been through the dialogue options with Saturas, after what you can actually then improve the weapon. If you just get the weapon and go to Beliar shrine, and do not see the line a la "Improve the weapon" or such, then there's no point to pray at all, usual prayers wont affect the weapon. It's pretty much similar to paladin consecration ceremony.

Weapon increases as your level increases. It starts out as damage 90 and... whatever else, I forgot the stats, with a small chance to do additional lighting damage (I forgot how big that lightning damage is). Maximum damage of the 1H sword is 110, with some 50% chance to zap the target per hit. I've hit enemies at times many times in a row and not getting a single zap, over many enemies, and next thing you know, I may get few lightings in a row on one target. 2H version is pretty much the same, it's max damage is 120 with also 50% chance to zap the sucker at the other end of the sword.

You'll get it after you've killed Raven, that's also about the end of the addon story.

Are there any more side quests (from the add-on) in the further chapters.
I thought that the add-on ends in chapter 4.

Well, there are some. For example if you want Xardas to leave to the Circle of the Sun to heal the eye, you will now need to find a water mage that can take over his job.
But the storyline in the addonworld is finished when you have killed Raven and have returned to the watermages.

So, in essence, how many hours of gameplay does it 'add' ?

To be honest I haven't got the addon yet (I want the full English version), but they say something like 20-30 hours, but I heard one guy say he did it in three(!) hours. So it depends on how you play, just the basics or killing everything and doing every sidequest there is.
