My game kept starting with speech echos
so I did two things
first updated direct x from 8.0 to 8.1
secondly I disabled my wave device for my modem.
Don't know which worked but now there is no echo when playing.

Hi,

have you tried to disable the hardware acceleration for your soundcard, 'cause this is what did the trick to me...
