I need a good RPG

I need a RPG that is fun and has some difficulty. And one I have been thinking about it Dark Age of Camelot. Good or bad? I am looking for under $20 or $30.

Are you looking for single player RPG or MMORPG?

Single player, if possible a multiplayer feature.

And what do you like? You can try NeverwinterNights, you can try Gothic, you can try Wizardry 8, you can try Morrowind.
I can not give you more accurate tip if we do not know what you like.

I like Gothic 2, Morrowind style game-play.

More like MW has Gothic style gaemplay
if you want to spend 20-30 you can get a bundled Fallout2 (Great game) Planescape: Torment (Great Game) and Baldur's Gate (Great game) from amazon.com. Alll of these have great storylines, gameplay

DAoC is a MMORPG and has a monthy fee associated with it, so if you are looking to spend only $20-$30, this is not the one you want (Im not sure of the exact cost, but I would guess its around $39.99 initially for the game, then $12-$14 per month to maintain an account).

I really enjoyed Gothic, and am now running around in Arx Fatalis. Arx is a pretty hard game to me. Ive only scratched the surface, and had to consult the walkthrough a couple of times already. Morrowind is nice when I want that "soloing in Everquest" feeling (I cancelled my EQ account because after time, I was doing alot of soloing which is about as fun as watching paint dry. I can get the same "world" feeling in Morrowind, without the monthly charge)

You can also try teh Ice Wind Dale series... should be rather cheap.

BTW: Morrowind is based on Daggerfall gameplay, which is based on Arena gameplay, which was SLIGHTLY before Gothic.

Gothic 1/2 or Morrowind, and of course Baldurs gate 2, which is still the best RPG ive ever played...

hands down: Fallout2
TOTAL Nonlinearity, Freeform gameplay, huge playing world, some of the things these NPCs say, omg from hilarious to sick.
I only just got it 3 weeks ago and its making my G2 CDs gather dust.
They need to incorporate a gothics engine for a fallout3, that'd be nice

yes hard to believe, and Im a super Gothic fanboi too
but this game is Black Isle at its best. I bought the game bundled with BG and PS-T, only cost me $22 and the guy shipped me 2 copies too!

Gothic is *THE* game to play for immersiveness and pretty freeform gaming, but this game is TRUE non linearity (gaming wise). As soon as you leave your village you can go *anywhere* in this world, how well you'll perform and such a low level depends on you...the quests are so many and some interconnect with others so there are a ton of angles you can attack them from. Maybe cause this game still uses 2d, top perspective graphics is why there is so much room to play in. Gothic could be this loose if maybe so much of the resources didnt go into the 3d rendering? (guesses)
If you can find a copy of fallout2 and you have a lot of time, try this gem out

Fallout 2 is most certainly NOT COMPLETELY non-linear. You have a plot you have to do, and everything can only end in a few ways. You have freedom of movement, yes, but it is basically the same freedom you have in sooo many other games. For example: the BG series, the Gothic series, Arcanum, Fallout 1, the elder scrolls series, the krynn series etc. etc. etc.

Fallout 2 was definately a nice little game, but nothing special.

Well, Shrapnel has me convinced, I think I'll give it a try. Should I play the first one or does it not matter?
