No offense...but the Danish could win the match for the last 10 minutes if they had any gas left.

Each side suffered the same weather and had no excuse other than self's energy level.

It was Tomasson's fault if he did not pull the other guy's shirt and the yellow card was well deserved for a world class player.

The French has to win big (at least 2 goals) against the Danish next match without Thierry Henry and needs Uruguay to beat Senegal to avoid a disaster finish. Can the French score *goals*?

This kept the door opened for Ireland! Since the Saudi Arabia was officially eliminated from the tournment, they may not be too aggressive for the last match, If Ireland can win with 2 goals margin, they are in for the second round.

mmmhhh... France played 2 time up to now and never scores... too bad for the World Champoins...
and Beo, from what i saw i think Senegal can win easily against Uruguay, but can France win over Danmark? I'm doubtful...
Today they showed very poor attack system, with individual rushes but nothing more. There is no team-play, and their passages are often wrong... i enjoyed the first 10 minutes of the first half and the first 15 minutes of the second half and nothig else...

Well i'm not so sure... i saw a good Saudi Arabia against Camerun... and the fact that they are already elimenated could make them fight with more resouces than ever!!
But i hope Ireland win!!

1. Good showing: It was the showing of national pride after allowing 8 goals in a previous game.
2. The height. Most of the Cameroon attacks were from the ground (SA strength) but I believe Ireland will utilize air attack. (See the German show)
3. Eliminated. I hope the Arabians will give a fight. The SA players are rich with oil money and do not want to play games under tough condition (aka foreign soil). They do not have pressure anyway from the beginning.

Okay, time to tie up some loose ends.

Maybe I should check my warnings counter.

No, it was just my cookies being uncooperative again.

And it´s not necessarily Sesame Street. "Cookies bad, Val good!" can also be a different show/movie.

The Korean victory was well deserved. Looks like Guus Hiddink did an excellent job. The Korean president should definitely deny him the citizenship.
Hiddink is always welcome in Germany since he lost 7-0 with Valencia in Karlsruhe. No, seriously, I saw a few interviews with him, he seems to be a very likable guy.

Ireland - Germany:
The draw was correct, IMO. Ireland was the stronger team, but Germany left out some good chances to make the 2-0 and finish them off. For some reason Ireland likes to play against Germany. The record is 6-5 for Germany, the last German victory was 23 years ago (acc. to a tv commentator).

France - Denmark will be a tough battle. I´m quite confident they´ll beat them, but with 2 goals difference? This won´t be easy. The Uruguay match will be a draw, most likely 0-0. Both play it safe, Senegal does not need to win, the Urus are too weak.

France has to win and have 2 goals margin in order to advance.
1. If Denmark and Senegal both win/tie their final matches, both teams advance. Denmark #1 Senegal #2
2. If Senegal ties and Denmark loses by a goal only, both teams advance. Senegal #1 Denmark #2
3. If Denmark loses by 2 goals or more, France has a chance to seize the first runnerup spot and Denmark will be out of contention based on goal difference.

With France's performance so far in this cup it does show that there new rule for the winner of this Cup should not get an automatic bid to the next world cup.

(sigh)... France stands no chance to win the world cup this year. I'm not even sure if they can even make it to the second round. Can't believe that they were not able to beat Uruguay. My hopes for Group A are now on Denmark.

It is still possible for France to pass the first stage but they have to beat Denmark by a large margin. If they do get into the second stage, I think they will have a good chance of winning it. All their players will be aviable again and their morale would be high.
