I axed the banker. Bad Idea?

I got a little tired of the attitude of the banker in Arx, as well as that of his snobby wife, so I arranged for a little "accident" to befall. So, he's now out of the picture, (but I got some great loot off him, including key to the bank!).

The question is, was this a bad idea? Am I going to need him in the future? Has my low tolerance for obnoxiousness and itchy trigger finger doomed me from finishing the main quest?

Thanks!

You don't need him later on. If his forced demise will afflict you in a negative way despite this fact I do not know.

To Kill or not to Kill?

I played both ways, killing them and waiting and just robbing them first. It makes no difference at all. Just be sure to get the "Hidden Key" from them. You get a lot more stuff that way.
