sorta stuck ... at beginning

If I could get help on 3 things, it would be so less frustrating ..
FIRST, and most important, how/where can I learn the lockpick skill?
2. I am in the city and am trying to find the thieves guild .. just let
Rengaru go and he promised to spread the word about me ... what's my next step? And finally, where can I buy better armor? All I hve is the 25/20 leather armor. Thanks SO much! pormike

1. One of the first traders you meet in Khorinis. First or second house one the right on the main street. You need to do a quest before he teaches you.
2. This is a complex quest. It has only been explained 25 times before, so maybe you should learn how to use the search funtion.
3. Armour is a status symbol in the Gothic world. Newbies wear newbie armour. You get a better armour when you join one of the camps and youīll get the oppotunity to buy increasingly better armour for a lot of money later on.

Your char is weak in the beginning - I bet you already found that out . Itīs best to play Gothic like an adventure in the first few hours. Talk to every named NPC in Khorinis, collect a dozen quests, find out who sympathyzes with whom. Certain NPCs can be hired to help you solve a quest.
When youīre done ask Lares in the harbor area to escort you to the mercenary camp. They also have a number of admission quests.
The 3rd choice is the monastery, which you canīt enter so easily.

After the first chapter the game becomes more linear and more combat-heavy. You need to join a camp before you can visit Lord Hagen. After your talk with him chapter 2 starts.

1. Thorben can teach you, but it's gone cost you. You can also join the thiefs guild and learn it there (for free I thought).
2. In the pub in the harbor there is this guy which can give you a mission for the thiefsguild. If you give his name to Lord Andre, the thiefsguild will try to assasinate you.
Another possibility is to defeat the bandits west of Agil's farm. They have a fish with a letter in it you should give to Halvor the fish merchant.
3. At the moment you can't getr any better, better armor will become available when you join a guild.

EDIT: You beat me into giving the awnser Gorath.

@ Gorath, I think that would be Lares at the harbour, not Diego. (yeah I know you know, but still...)
