Hi everybody! I have visited the gothic and elderscrolls forums for some time now to get useful info on gothic3 and oblivion and finally I was forced to join cos' I've got a question:
I live in france and here the gothic series is not a great success and I didn't find much french sites on it and here most of the people thinks gothic 2 was first released in USA in 2003...so I had do create a website for french fans.
And I am right now facing a problem: I don't know if I have the right to insert gothic screans(my site will be free-maybe I'll put some ad banners). I have downloaded piranha bytes fansite kit but I need more. Thanks |

Salut and welcome to the boards,
if you look around to the other fansites you will see that they all use pictures that weren't included in the kit. You don't need to worry if you want to use the E3 sreenshots for example. But you shouldn't use pictures with a watermark on them because it's bad style.
Perhaps Gorath or someone else who's more involved in those things can comment on this one. |

Taking pics from the official site is of course illegal, but everybody does it and the publisher is aware everything they put on the site will spread quickly. Itīs tolerated because itīs cheap marketing. Most sites donīt even give proper credit for things taken from the official site.
You can also use the stuff from press.jowood.com . Everything on that site is meant to be published.
Making your own G2 screenshots is also quite easy. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

ah ok thanks. I'll do my own screens for G2 and I'll take some from G3. I though other sites had to ask etc, but finally it is easy and quite relax. |

Since yesterday, already some people heve visited my website, and there are a lot of french people that never played gothic1&2 but hesitate for gothic3. And I have even been asked to speak of the Universe of gothic and describe the first two games. When I'll have done that, I'll try putting a link to my page on some french video games websites. And with all those people that would buy gothic3 if they knew more about it.....And Gothic4 will be released if gothic3 is a best-seller......
So i have two questions: do you know if gothic3 will be released in french soon after german release?
And what could I speak of about gothic 1&2? The charismatic characters? Just throw some ideas cos' I don't know what to say to help people making up their mind..... |

Why don't you mail questions like this directly to Piranha Bytes / JoWooD? I just think of " I don't know if I have the right to insert gothic screans", too.

- the world and its inhabitants
- the story in general + quests
- the gameplay (controls, rpg-system, etc.)
- the things gothic makes so special: atmosphere, world full of life, etc. pp. |
