.hack//Quarantine: First Details

I've been doing news for a little while now and I've seen some unusual game features - but this one takes the cake. A place-holder site is now up for the .hack//Quarantine offering a few scant details. Here's the feature list - have a look at point 3:
• Bring your save data over from Part 3 and hit the ground running in Part 4 with your leveled up characters and items.
• Encounter and trade with your favorite .hack//SIGN characters!
• Simulated MMORPG: no internet connection required!
• Dual Voiceover: Choose either English or Japanese for a totally immersive experience.
Simulated MMORPG?

Have you not heard of .hack yet? They are all simulated MMORPG games. That's the whole point of the game.

Have I heard of them? Of course. Do I know anything about them? Nope. I don't have a console and Japanese RPGs don't grab me. I'm still coming to terms with FFX-2's dress spheres let alone a "Simulated MMORPG: no internet connection required!"

Well then, it all makes sense now!

Oh well! You aren't missing much by not playing .hack, personally, I find it rather boring. Quite popular amongst the fans though.

The feature list for all four games has been identical... why the surprise?

Seriously, I rather like the game. The combat is sorta boring, but at the same time, quite deep... requires a lot of thought to actually be able to play and not get spanked by the mobs you fight. And the story so far is excellent...
