help! authenticity probelm |
|
first , i am not doing anything illegal.
i just want to burn gothic2 for my brother so he can play too,(i need the cds for myself) so i burned all 3 cds, took them with me to my brother's, but the installation gave me "authenticity check failed, please ensure that ..." something like that.
Is there a way to solve this problem? thanks! |

I doubt we can help you with that. It looks like the copy protection works. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

I tried copying from cd to cd to make a back up.
Nero wouldn't do it, so i had to burn to hard disk and then to cd.
I do this with most of games , just incase they ever get scratched or messed up or something (learned my lesson with Sea dogs, since it's 30 bucks USED now an di can't play it)
I get that too. I guess it's some kind of copy protection.
Which i think hurts the actual paying customer rather than oppose warez because it is already out in those kind of channels.
Just hope i don't end up breaking my gothic cds or scratching them bad, though i doubt i will since it's only happened once. |

As you didnŽt understand the small hint in my post above IŽll explain it to you once and for all.
happysky9396 and ganesha, both of you received a warning. 5 warnings will get you banned automatically. You posted informations in the forum which might be useful for pirates. This is a strict taboo here! If I ever again see one of you post something only remotely in support of an illegal use of the game you will be banned immediately without another warning. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

It's perfectly legal to make one backup for personal use for yourself.
it's illegal to distrubute it to other people or make said profit from that backup. |
