I didn't know that there was an experience cap, but my characters are definitely not getting any more experience points, despite what I'm told at the end of each battle. Now I'm fairly close to the end of game, but was sort of planning on still improving my characters a bit more. Of well, might as well blast my way through to the end.

I actually think an experience cap spoils the game a bit - nothing but battles to do, now. No more neat level-ups and character strategy.

There's no experience cap, and I seriously doubt you've hit the level cap with a full party. Unless you've somehow got a corrupt save, your party is still getting the XP as advertised.
