JemyM I have to disagree.
If U9 loads in 4 seconds (game and savegame) but Gothic loads in 20, it's not my system's fault. It's the game.
If U9 loads as slow as Gothic, then it's my system.

Ok to force the pc to use your system ram then change your virtual memory settings...

Usually in My Computer (right click) > Properties > Performance > Virtual Memory

If you have 128mb then tell windows to use

Min = 0mb
Max = 128mb (this will also help quicken comps up)

Just change the 128 to whatever ram you have.

Also you can change your File System in the same window from Desktop > Network Server this in turn will allow for quicker file reading and access..

Try those and see if the performance increases a little

Um,
The afforementioned virtual memory settings don't make any sense. What that would do is pretty much make things slower. Since you'd run into virtual memory either way, starting the swap file at zero would just mean it would have to create the file as more is required of it.

If you don't want your system using virtual memory, I think there is an option to turn it off. If not, you'd want to set min and max both to zero. This isn't really recommended though. What is recommended, however, is that you set your virtual memory to 2x your physical RAM. So if you've got 128MB, set both min/max to 256MB.

None of this is really gonna help you at all though, so buy more RAM.

i have 450 mhz with 32 meg 3d card and 200 mb ram and it loads around 1 min to 2 mins at first hour of game, but takes a bit longer the longer i play (i got only 1 gig left so my virtual memory goes away fast and i have to restart to get better performance)... but i have set settings to 60 percent view and half the texturing, and it gave me better fps and load time... dont set ur graphics to max if you dont have at least 700 mhz and anything lower than 200 ram

If Gothic loads in 30 seconds on one computer, and 5 minutes on another, we can say that it is the computer that is the problem =)

Best Regards
JemyM
