Is there anyone who has got G2 who didn't have G1? I'd be interested to see a review from someone a bit more objective.

In Gothic 1, whenever I got stuck or bored with a certain objective, I would save the game then go reek havoc and when I was done I would reload the game so my actions wouldn't be saved. For example, just for temporary fun I would get the giant monkey dude and the undead zombie dude and lead them into the Old Camp. I would literally get popcorn and beer and watch all the camps guards fight and die... the longest fight actually lasted over 3 hours.. more than half the camp was dead as a result of the beasts LOL It was a blast to watch and do.

My question is, is this an option in Gothic 2? If you want to reek havoc like this just for fun, can you train a really strong monster into the camp that will kill most the guards and fight for at least 45 minutes before finally dying? Or is "training" mobs into the city impossible? (I'm not talking about some wimpy lvl 20 orc wolf or something that will die like 30 seconds into the fight. The undead zombie and giant monkey dude were invulneable to certain attacks, which is why they were so fun to watch in the camp. Any mobs like these?)

Oh yeah, another question. I loved casting summoning spells. I would use the spell called, "Army of Darkness." (I think thats what its called, been a while...) I would summon a HUGE army of skeletons and imps and let them run around the old camp fighting all the guards. This was a BLAST too, is there more or less summoning spells? And will the guards still attack your summoned creatures if u summon them into a city?

Summoning Spells

Yes there are summoning spells in G2, although I only have the Demo so I can't use any of them yet.
The only one I couldn't find in the Gothic.dat file was the summon blood fly scroll. Which was my favorite one in G1

Training animals at others is still an option, but the world is far bigger and I didn't find a Troll close enough to the town yet. I mean - it's somewhat boring to try and have a Troll follow you across half the world.

As for summoning spells, there is at least one new spell there.

Ariakas, I'm pretty sure you meant 'morph' spell - there are many new morph spells here, but I still haven't seen the bloodfly morph anywhere, so chances are good it was taken out.

Doh! The bloodfly morph was my favorite spell. I can't stand spending 20 minutes running back and forth on foot in a world thats really large. Morrowing for example...having to kill those stupid newb mobs at every corner was very annoying. I hated having to run for an hour just to get anywhere. I really hope there is at least one good morph spell that will allow him to travel extremely fast and avoid mobs. (I also loved that you could fly above the water, checking out waterfalls and such without the risk of being attacked by water dwellers or worse, drowning.)

No, since people might say I'm biased.

Why would you be more or less biased than anyone else?

...because Garrett and Jaz are credited. So if a RPGDot or GothicDot staff member has to write a review, it should be somebody else.

By the way whoever asked about the fast travel well there are some nice things to travel fast:1) buy FastRun Potions if u drink 1 bottle of it u can run 5 min very fast
2) u can use later Teleport Spells (To tavern , Kloster , City etc)
3) u can use a Firelizzard spell they run also pretty fast
