I guess that it goes without saying, that it is best to bribe the merchant that you'll be dealing with alot at the beginning of the game. You will more than makeup the bribe money spent in the course of the game by returning to him to sell your stuff. I bribed the merchant at the beginning of the game and it was money well spent. I took over the shack of the person who killed the tax collector and "marked" the shack with a spell. So when I load up with stuff (I really overload myself, sometime 3 times my weight limit) I just cast recall and teleport to the shack, unload my stuff and go sell it to the local merchant, who just loves me at 100 points.
I think just about everyone knows this little trick; but it doesn't hurt to post it. |

Max, you might want to be a little more choosy about where you spend your money. As you progress, you'll find that the 700gp (or so) the Seyda Neen merchant has will be insufficient for you to "unload your spoils".
OTOH, since you're based right across the muck pond from him, the convenience might be the deciding factor. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

He has 800 gp so I sell things to him until I'm within a few gp of all his money, then I "wait" in his store for 24 hours. After 24 hours, he is rolling with gp and I begin the process all over again. I have the shack across the muck full of big ticket items. But, if I were going to unload a big ticket item on him (worth over the 800gp that he has); I would first take his cash, then take the balance in his high priced items. Then, I would "wait" another 24 hours and sell him back his own stuff. I know, I'm not getting the full value; but it is a convience. After selling I usually hop on the "daddy-long-legs" taxi and go off adventuring. |

LOL! Love that name. Someone needs to do a texture mod and paint the silt striders' bodies yellow... _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

i bribe every merchant i want to purchase from consistently. it is easier to find them again, and you will always be able to purchase the expnsive stuff for allot less. they respond better to your mercantile as well, making it easier to raise your skill. |

Or just mark a spot in the creeper's house near the creeper and do that same thing.....alot easier than doing the Arille thing. _________________ "What are you gonna do? Release the dogs?!
