Exit the game and try rebooting your system. Then shut down unnecessary programs like virus protection, etc. It could just be competing programs trying to grab system resources.

It is not possible the scratch on the cd is slowing you down. The cd is accessed rarely, so you should seek for the reason elswhere.

Well here is some information about my pc:
Pentium 3/4 more than 700 mhz
Saphire 128 mb craphic card
more than 256 mb ram memory
more than 2.2GB hard disk space
sound isnt important
and directx 9.0b

Well think thats better than normal pc's i can play gothic 2 without exstreem stuttering so i can stabelize it a bit i want the craphics just on the best becouse iv got a good 3d card this is how i stabelize gothic 2 Video settings on 1024-768-32bit
subtitels on extended config. everything off performance/quality i select the best but than the music goes on so iv got to turn the music off and i play gothic stabelized but it still stutters a bit i just want to play smoothly and with the music mode on its driving me crazy

1. sloooow
2. this says nothing. Could be everything, from crap to good.
3. 384 MB minimum are needed for stutter-free play. More is better.
4. This is enough for the game. What about another GB for a permanet swap file?
5. correct. If the game starts your sound card is good enough.
6. good.

7. You think wrong. This is completely outdated. Today´s average new PC has close to 3 GHz, 512 MB and a killer graphics card.
