KotOR 2 -- 20 hours in 3 days

as seen in the topic title, I am addicted to KotOR 2 - the Sith lords.
a huge minor part in this game is the engine... which looks a tad old now.
however, the story is great. you dont get all your info in the beginning, you get it part by part in the story, and I gotta tell you, it's great. you also meet some people from the Kotor party, but that is still a suprise
I went dark side, and -- which is actually quite a minor -- after 8 hours I reached my full darkness, and I am still receiving dark side points with the minute. I got my first saber after 13 hours, which is quite long (but then again, I dont rush trough the game, I am more of a wondered, who looks in every corner and in every room).
I am currently a level 15 Jedi Guardian, and a level 2 Sith Marauder (a sith marauder is more of a sith who depents on strength, let's say its equil to a warrior/fighter).

I say to everyone who played kotor, and also to those who did not: Play this game! except if you dont want to spend more then 7 hours per day on your computer!

I love the sequel to already great game. And the second part to it is just great. With so many new options that you can do and so many new things you can find is just amazing. And how the development and alignment of your character effects your group is probably the most original thing I've seen for long time. I'm playing 2nd time now, 1st time I was Light Side Jedi Guardian with prestige class of Jedi Master and now 2nd time through i'm at 20 hours of play and I'm Dark Side - Jedi Guardian with a prestige class of Sith Lord.

Kotor2 is a great game - much better than 1. in my opinion. Workbench and item creation enhancements are awesome and storyline also. I already played it 2 times (jedi guardian/light, consular/dark) and now I'm playing with an unarmed specialist sentinel with intelligence 18 and str/dex/cha 8. The game is finally challenging enough when playing with such character and without other party members.
I'm still using an old GF3 card and kotor 2 runs smoothly with it, a big plus.
No crashes so far but there is some bugs in dialogs.

I'm liking Kotor 2, but I think I liked the first one better.

Are you all who say this game is great, paid advertisers? Or simply oblivious?
This game is a joke and a slap in the face of Kotor fans. Figure it out! The whole game is paste and glue and best.

The KotORs are the best CRPGs I have played in a long time (since Bloodmoon I think). And yes, I mean both. Personally, I like the second one better than the first one, it's less Baldur's Gate-y.

@Farseer

Many think game is copy and paste with several small additions from the first part but I personally think only those who didn't search the game and histories of happening around you can say that. As in first part you research about your past but the difference is that you don't only explore your past and past of your companions but past of whole galaxy, races, planets, and other characters from the first game. There isn't a better thing then meeting Carth or anyone else from first part again in II. But if you think very well and replay the game again and do all what game offers you will see how many differences are there.

The game is a LOT more than just cut and paste. While it has some obvious flaws, it is a very enjoyable gaming experience. I might even play it twice!!

IMO, characters were well written in Kotor2; but, it's more linear than Kotor. Some places seems made swiftly. There aren't enough side quests, i think. But, characters impressed me more than Kotor. You can not determine whether they are evil or not. Lots of mysteries around them.

I got addicted to this wonderful game instantly. When I finally got my hands on it I played for something like 11 hours. And then after some sleep I played it for 13 hours. And then for another 16 hours(!) and I was like "Wow..."
Call me sick for playing for so long taking a break only to sleep, but this only proves how great this game is - in my opinion. Well, maybe the reason I played it for such long periods of time is that I *had* holidays. Too bad I couldn't play with the frame buffer effects though - I would love to see the blur when you use Force Speed and to see Force Sight actually do something.
The weakest thing about the game was the last few hours of it and the ending. At first I felt totally disappointed but after some time I got over it a bit and thought that the ending itself wasn't so bad - but the cut content thing still makes me angry, I mean this game could've been SO much better.
Spoiler:
Not to mention the Trayus Academy - meaningless and easy slashing through hordes of enemies while wondering 1)what is that other part of the Academy that you can see on the map, 2)what the heck is a mass shadow generator, and if you had Mira in your team: 3)why is she suddenly there on M5 while the rest of your party isn't? - well, except the two droids. Only got some answers after I finished the game...

Another minus was the lack of companion side-quests, and very few dialogues. KotOR 2 has some great stuff that you won't experience in the first part but I must say that overall the first KotOR was better.
