ok Controls are wacky on this game. Need some help
   

ok I just want to be able to fight using one key. I selected he eft mouse button as my Action button but I have to hold down the "move forward button and then click the action button to swing my weapon. Any ideas?

using 1.31 english version

well if u dont like that way to fight then go to options and turn Gothic 1 controls off

And you have to hold 'action' and then press one of the directional keys. Not like you described it.

I have the right mouse button set as Forward so yes it was as I described it. Where does it say Gothic 1 controls?
