Complete Walkthrough & FAQ finished! (MEGA SPOILERS)

So here is my contribution to the Gothic Community

This FAQ contains a complete Walkthrough, and have notes for all the camps, and strategies to finish the game as a Warrior, Mage or Ranger.

It contains tips about fighting with melee weapons, and using spells...

Hints, Tips, 'Behind the Scenes' information, spell-tables, list of skills/attributes etc.

The remaning stuff will probably be added in the next few days, but so far I am ready to show this to this community before I release it.

If you have any comments, or anything you want to add, tell me.

That was nice work. As a new player, it will help me avoid all kinds of frustration! Thanks.

In your walkthrow you wrote:
"Never ever try to enter a locked area without having a quest to
go there. Chances are larger than you think, that you break plots
that are critical to solve the game."
Could you, please, result anu example?
I kill all monsters in all locations in the first chapter and don't crash the game.
For example i kill the troll 3 times and nothing happand.

It mostly means -
Never ever touch a winch, if you arent supposed to.
You can 'hang' the winch, jamming it (bug) so you cannot enter later.

If a place is clearly locked, dont use the meatbug spell to get in, there aer other means to do it, except at the place where thats a obvious solution.

Monsters isnt included.

I have killed the same Troll three times too.
Monsters are respawning after each chapter.

I think the monster respaun not in every chapter. I have noticed, that they respaun only after chapter 2.
And important monsters respaun when you need them.
And some more. I open the monastery gate in the begining of the game. When i got the quest to open it, they and have remained open. And i don't have any trouble.
I write it not to criticize your work and that you had more full representation about some problems within this game.
Just right now i read your walkthrow and it help me great. Thanks a lot.

Hey, now problem, I like to have some input =)

I know about the respawning...
What I meant was that you shouldnt stop yourself from killing anything you see since the IMPORTANT monsters respawn.

Perhaps I should clarify that in the FAQ?

There are some Winches that will get 'stuck' and cannot be opened for the rest of the game.

I have been caught by this bug myself, and there are others that have beeen caught of it in other places, so it seems to be a problem with all the winches.

Very well put together. I noticed a typo though. When listing the different stats strength, dexterity, mana, under Dexterity, it says "1 Skillpoint for 1 Strength" Not anything major...

Oh, another thing I noticed is the bit about the first secret area. You don't have to to all that amazing jumping stuff (even though that's how I got up there first ) Just examine the cliff face next to the bridge. You should be able to work your way up there by just making a series of jump-and-pull-yourself-up steps. You will find some serephis on your way up if you're in the right place.

Give it to me

I will continue to 'update' the FAQ for the rest of this week. Probably post it to the major cheat-sites the 22-23 december... That version is the official 1.0 version... Right now I only update this version with everything I got from this forum.

Great Job on the walkthrough. there were a couple of little things though:

the bloodhounds tip to get the mace, the stone golem is on the left, not the right (you said right for the golem and right for the 'dead' area).

also, if you use the spacebar to draw your last weapon, you can hold it down and use the arrow keys to switch between magic and your equipped sword (never had a bow at the end when i stumbled on this). if you hold for the magiv - it shows all your quick slot runes floating in a circle around your character, adn you can use the left right arrow keys to pick which you want to use. not really handy, but it is there

lastly - you can become a guard and a fire mage as someone else here hinted at it. if you talk to thorus and say you want to become a mage, you can turn around and talk to the head fire mage - just be sure not to take the quest right away. go back to thorus and become a guard (the option is still there). now, anytime before you get exiled, go back to the head mage, take the quest, and you can convert to a fire mage. i did it and maxed out 1h swd, 2h swd, and became a 6th circle mage

Fixed the directions

Added the info about the "space" button

Added tip of asking about titles in the 'correct' order.

=)
