version 1.08 and editing test mode to enable console

Hi i've got the version 1.08 patch and im trying to enable the marvin console . it says to go into the gothic.ini file and change tst mode 0 to test mode 1,but there is no test mode entry in my ini file . can anyone help me please where is this entry

Welcome to the boards!

Only the 99% uninformed websites mention this outdated method which just worked in the unpatched German release version. All you need to know can be found in our cheat guide on GothicDot.

Thank you very much you've been very helpful.I can now use the basic cheats when i need too, however i still can't get the console to come down i put the -devmode in the target box of the desktop icon and it went in ok.but when i'm playing the game i hit s or b to get stat screen type marvin it shows marvin mode in top left corner,but nothing happens when i hit f2 to bring down the console i'm really stumped any more advice please??

Strange. Delete the devmode thing and try only bMARVINb. One method is enough. After Marvin is displayed at top left F2 should toggle the console. If not then something is wrong...

edit: first try only -devmode, then only MARVIN.

I just don't get it

I've tried it as bmarvinb and with the gothic.exe" -devmode' and it still wont bring up console marvin only stays in top left corner for a few seconds then disapears. i wonder ? I guess i just have to find that test mode entry in my ini file? i've looked and looked but can't find that entry.?????? any suggestions?????? i really do appreciate your help thank you!

Or, not and! The two method are alternatives. Only use one of them.
What version of the game do you have?

This is correct. Now the 'F2' key should bring down the console, 'k' should teleport you forward, etc.
It worked on every Gothic version I tried it on, even in the demo.

If your version is newer than 1.06 you can stop searching. There is no such entry.

hey gorath thank you very much for your help.This week has been a dum dum week for me,nothing goes right.I feel really stupid !!! My wife got a new keyboard a few days ago.I guess i should have studied it better it has an f key enable/disable feature on it,and naturally it was off the whole time.Its working fine now!!lol!!!!! ha ha I FEEL STUUPID>lol again thanks I'm sorry i wasted your time!!!
