I'll predict who's next- Matrix Online. I don't see many having interest in this mmorpg and bet from a gut level that it will be canned next.

I'm surprised it was cancelled at such an advanced stage.

I can just see it now .... Blizzard are sad to announce the abandonment of WoW due to insurmountable technical problems.

I saw the Matrix Online MMO a couple weekends ago... it is far enough along it probably won't get cancelled, but really I'm astonished it got this far. It was supposed to release along with the SECOND movie.

Oh, and the game looks horrible. Not the graphics, but the fact that in the combat you stand two feet away from someone who is just standing there, shoot them with a shotgun, then they do some kung-fu punch at you and continue standing there while you pump and take another shot. It looks just amazingly awkward.

I feel bad insulting a local game that I've met some of the team-members for, but it just doesn't even look fun at all.

Guild-wars on the other hand looked awesome, I will definitely be picking that one up.

Whats EA MMO is out there right now, or what EA MMO is in development. Whatever its is or even if there are more than one of them. Those are all my guesses for whats canned next.

Hmm, I am not sure that EA is publishing/developing any MMORPGs at the moment. Not that they have any needs to, they have the fast money making mashine called the Sims. Not sure even if they still support Sims online.
Matrix online is an almost sure one - It already was dumped from one of the publishers (Ubi Soft).
Right after that is Star Trek MMOG - I know they just announced it, but nevertheless given the record ....

I doubt they would drop Star Trek. I mean, look at the potential money making for that one. You know how many ST fans there are that would buy it?!? a few more than Star Wars, i can tell you that much.

Next to get cancelled? I'd say any mmo thats corporate (Codemasters and Microsoft come to mind). The ones that seem to have the best chance of making it are - oddly enough - the independent developers. Their financial base is spread out over multiple investors; as apposed to one company trying to fund the whole thing.
And yeah, I get the feeling Matrix online is gonna bite it
Not sure if its indy or not but.....we'll see.

Matrix MMO isn't indy, it is being done by Monolith. They were hoping that it would be their 'A' title to get them out of their 'B' title slump.

Oops.

But hey, they could release it and make millions and suprise us all...

I actually forgot whole 2 titles that are almost sure to get the can - Middle Earth Online & DnD Online. Although that is doubtful (look at the way Turbine are still marketing Asheron's Call 1 & 2), there is high probability that one of them is going to bite the dust ....
