Finished Fallout (spoilers)

Yay! I won. The ending, WOW. That was totally unexpected! After all I did for those people and they kick you out?! That end scene when your character is just walking away, wow. I was actually moved by that.
This was a really great game and I now know why so many of you like it. I'll be playing Fallout 2 over my Christmas break.

I thought it was an awesome ending. Fallout 2 is every bit as good a game. Some people complained it was too similar to the first one as it used the same engine. I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I agree, the ending was quite a shock. Try playing with an evil character and you'll get an ending that's slightly different.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. You'll love the second.

I definitely prefered fallout to fallout 2.

The story is much more engaging in fallout. It is very short though.

Fallout 2 is sort of aimless. But youll see.

I envy you that you missed out on some of the best crpgs. Check out Planescape torment also.

@SAL - I am very happy for you that you got to experience Fallout. It is a really great game, and yeah the ending was a bit of a shocker.

I loved the overall 'kitchy' feel and atmosphere, and the totally customizable characters ... not visually, but operationally.

I can not recall if FO1 had them or if it was only FO2, but what, if any, of the 'funny' random encounters did you bump into? I wish you well w/ FO2 ... it is also really great!

Both games had funny random encounters. Fallout Tactics even has them.

The special encounters in Fallout 2 are even better than the original!

"I suddenly have the feeling that I should save my game in a new slot."

"What is your name?"
"What is your quest?"
"What is your favorite color?"

Awesome! LOL

Oh yeah! I found the downed shuttle and several others special encounters. I really like how they added those to the game. They're fun little surprises. And I like surprises. *grin*

both are extremly good, it just makes the tragedy of fallout 3 even more, mmm tragic, it's too bad really I don't think bethesda can do it as well as interplay could have espically after reading the inner documents that no mutants allowed posted.
