Hmmm.. I was going to start my first post off by giving a review, but I saw a nice screenshot of a person sitting down and was like "That's a cool effect for a living, breathing world".

So i install, and I can't sit down! how real is that??

Anyone got any ideas if they plan on letting us chill out in front of a river one day?

You can't sit down on the floor in Gothic.

Operation:Flashpoint is the only game that I know of that gives you special, and useless movements, like: Salute, Sit Down, Weapon on Back... And others.

The screenshot that you saw is a part of a cut scene. I haven't seen the cut scene myself, but it's not an ability that you can forcefully do.

But you can sit down on a bench by pressing ctrl+forvard!

That's very weak.

You should be able to sit down. The other NPC's in the game sit down all the time, and even around the fires at night. But the PC cant??? WEEAKK. I sure hope they fix this.

And don't compare Gothic to OFP buddy, you can't compare two different types of games like that. And OFP's salute, sit down, prone, etc are very well suited for that type of war game. That's the point of it.

As for Gothic, you should be able to just SIT DOWN. Makes no sense why this would not be allowed. It gives you a sense of time, realism, and relaxation. They need to add this.

which is just as useless:)
it would have been better if the ai was improved when it comes to things being stolen, rather than sitting down move:)

I think you're being unreasonable. There is nothing to "fix".

Here the developers have given you the ability to:

-sit on chairs, benches, stools, thrones or many other places
-sleep on a bed
-read a book
-fire, hammer, cool and grind your own weapons
-fry up meat
-smoke

And here you are GRIPING that your character can't sit on the ground? I think it's lame a lame cheap shot at the developers.

Who the hell has time to sit down when there are people to meet, critters to kill and quests to complete. Now, if you healed while you sat resting that would be different. But that would be stupid too when there are so many items lying around to eat. I don’t know about you but I have a supermarket in my back pocket (makes it hard to sit).

First you got to steal youself some raw steel and raw meat. For the meat, kill some Scavs or Molerats. For the steel, rip off the smithies.

Wow, look at all the very defensive people on the board. All I said was I wish i could sit down like by a river or something. (Since after all, this game is being claimed as a living, breathing world) The NPC's can sit down, why can't you?

Too many little defensive people on this board. Was a simple request. Wow and to think this is why people hate posting their thoughts on boards.

And to go Anonymous is even more clever.

it's living and breathing in a sense that everyone has a life function and interacts with one another, more or less
it is being advertized as something that is impossible to achieve in a video game
if u want living and breathing game, get sea-monkeys:) it's advertized that you can watch as they mate:)
Sitting down is a minor thing, look at npcs, you can find most of them in the same places during day and night times. Where are the hunters who hunt? and do they hunt? what the hell are the diggers doing? i haven't seen them go to the mines.
as i said though, it's nearly impossible to truly have a living and breathing world
