Here you go.

I deleted this post the first time, due to a mainstream critque which could be seen as harsh by some extreme fans, but it seems quite good so I reposted it.

Englsih speakers cant be to choosy since we rarely get interviews.

It seems to be VERY similar to the preview in the magazine Computer Gaming World. It really gave me a deja-vu.

It's in the news. Dhruin was just a few minutes earlier than I.

Yeah I do think that critique was harsh. And I'm not sure "Big hits in Germany but busts beyond, the Gothic RPGs slipped under the radar Stateside" is accurate. It may not have been big in America but that doesn't mean it was a bust everywhere else.

And "Sporting grizzled graphics and a lousy interface" well the interface could have been better sure, but I doubt the graphics were too shoddy when each game first came out. They still look good to me.

I'm really sad that they've scrapped the combat system coz a few people whined about it. It was the only game that you (as in YOU) actually duelled with an opponent. Cut, thrust, parry and so on. It was just as important that you were good as it was your character was good. Now they've probably scrapped it for just a click-fest sort of thing just like EVERY other game. Sad, very sad. Water it down for the main stream I suppose.

Computer Gaming World has one, I guess I missed it, I better start looking?

I agree, I thnk part of the problem is the way JoWood releases information, instead of releasing total number or sales, they give total dollar/euro amounts.

This leads to a huge distortion of sales, I believe that if the actual number of titles of GOthic sold outside of Germany was released we would get a nice surprise.

I wondered about the controls, too and it is my impression that this is more for the Average to Intense gamer that had no clue due to crappy manuls and no tutorial with either Gothic in the Englsih speaking world, but they are keeping the onginal controls for the Gothic fans, if I understood correctly.

Yeah, the graphic comment kinda shows he is not or has not been an RPG fan for long, as we all know for years we got the less quality graphics in the RPG genre.

It's posted in this thread. It's funny, some paragraphs are exactly the same.

I believe that there's an affiliation between the two. CGW mentions that site all the time in their mag. In the front part of the mag they (the editors, etc.) all show their 1up mailing address.
