Cave Question?

I found a cave not to far from where you end up getting the eye of innos. It has alot of skeletons all around and a few carts (looks like a battle took place) Anyway when you go in the cave there is a large gate and a winch, When I try to use the winch to open the gate it says i dont have the right item for that. What is it I need to open the gate? This is my second play threw of this game and so far niether time have I found whatever it is that is need to open this gate. Any help would be great!!

You need molerat fat to run the winch. You can find molerat fat in Paladin's Ship or in the backpack of one of the brothers in Akil's Farm.

Also if you have already provoked them to fight, soon you will get a quest about this quest.
