How come there are no mods for Gothic?

Or maybe I'm mistakening? I've searched on Google, and I've found out that only german sites have mods. But what about english?

And does anyone know how to change your characted? For example, I want to look like a Demon Lord from the beginning. I know the cheat with possesing creatures and NPCs, but it's not interesting since they can't talk >:/
I have also translated one german site and downloaded skin from Blade(the movie), but it doesn't work.
Any help?

You can find an English language Gothic mod
here on gothic.rpgdot.com. It's called VisiGothic.
