Titan Quest Preview @ Worth Playing

Worth Playing has added their two coppers to the Titan Quest discussion. The editors had a chance to sit down with Iron Lore CEO, Brian Sullivan, at a pre-E3 event and found this:
Beyond the 30-hour single-player adventure, Titan Quest supports six-player multiplayer-questing. Iron Lore also said competitions for fan-created content will follow the game's release to encourage use of the editor and nurture the community they hope will still be playing Titan Quest 10 years down the line, Diablo-style.

With an emphasis on extracting the fun action from the tales, Titan Quest promises to update that seemingly simple, but deeply mysterious, action-RPG formula while retaining the appeal for the serious adventurer. If the balance works out, maybe it'll do for classical literature what Mr. Angelina Jolie and Eric Bana put together couldn't pull off. Action RPGers can get their hands on it next month.
Read the rest and see a ton of new screens here.

Thinking back to this game, if it wishes to compete with Diablo, I'd say it would need more than just 1 male and 1 female character. One of the reasons why Diablo is so addicting is because of the greater role playing factor to it than most other such games.

Everytime I'm thinking of playing some kind of game, I'm always thinking of role playing a class. For example, some time ago, I was into paladins, that was when I started playing D2 again, after so long of not playing it. And just recently I was into playing a shapeshifter class (Druids) which also makes me want to play D2, again!

It is not just about the action, it's also about the actual RPG elements which make the game good, and addicting. It is making every character unique, in both looks and abilities, and heck, even the way they talk. Getting into a grand storyline...

I actually liked Diablo 1 better. Something about Diablo 2 just didn't do it for me. I hated how the enemies respawned in areas you already cleared.

Diablo 2 had superior character development options, there were so many ways and options to develop yourself and strategies to try out. But I would not say it had many roleplaying options, and you only got 1 model per class if I recall correctly.

Wait, don't tell me, you are the kind of person who says "SOE sucks" because it is fasionable.

Please elaborate as to why Diablo is "the worst of its kind" I would really like to see you make a case for Dungeon Siege, Revenant or Darkstone as superior.

Anyway, XvampireX's comments are on the money. Diablo is still played 10 years later because of the variation in character development.

Diablo is easy tp play yet difficult to master. This is its winning formula.
