Hello!
I accidently bought the german version of gothic! But I want at least english subtitles! I wrote an email to piranha-bytes. The answer was:
Hallo!
No Sorry. I canīt help you, because i mustnīt give you this files. But i can tell you what files of the english version you need to get english subtitles.
Exchange:
"...Piranha BytesGothic_workDATAscripts_compiledgothic.dat"
"...Piranha BytesGothic_workDATAscriptscontentCUTSCENEou.bin"
Thatīs all!!!!!
Perhaps someone of our fans will give you this files.

I was impressed by PB seing as Gothic was their first ever release.
I was very positively surprised to see I didn't need the CD in the drive to play it.
Now they've told someone to go ask us fans for files so he can get his Gothic running with English subtitles...
I wonder what other companies would've said,prob. something like "too bad,why don't you order the english version?".
Nice going again PB.
I was also impressed when I read in the Arx forum here that they invited a person from the forum who lived close to their offices.(sure,just a fast visit,but still impressive)
Good to see that some friendly companies appear in such a competitive industry. |

I already emailed the original poster asking for these files because RPGDot was taking forever to send me my account activation email, but in case he doesn't have them still, I thought I'd ask here too. (Sorry to have bothered you husnik, trying to do whatever I can to get these files so I can start playing Gothic 1 with at least a minimal understanding of what's going on.)

Hi everyone
First off, really love this site. It's a rpg fans dream.
Now for the begging
I really, really need the english files to translate the German version of Gothic 1 i bought. I so want to play this game. I bought it off ebay for Ģ10 not realising it was the German version i was buying (on top of that i found out i could of bought the german version for under 5 euro's at the German Amazon site..Aghh)
If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
I loved Gothic 2 and think it's probably the best rpg i ever played and from what i have read on this forum, Gothic 1 is even better!
I tried Uriziel's link but it is down.

I used winrar to uncompress them instead and it worked fine.
Cant wait to start playing...In fact im gonna start right now!
