There are so many things that you can insert that make me wonder just how much was changed before the release of Gothic.

Just a couple off the top of my head, allround_testmodell: This character has the model for the Necromancer's robe in his inventory. It's called "Legendary Mithral" on him, though, and it has no armor stats at all.

rotor_wind inserts a neat two handed sword called a "Red Wind" that does +105 and is very pretty. I would love to have found it during the game (either for sale or as spoils). It's so much nicer than the ugly axes you have to resort to for max. damage (until you get Innos' Rage of course).

Once I inserted an interesting version of the Necromancer's robe, also. It was the right color but lacked the ornate stitching on the front. The epaulettes were flat across the shoulders and stuck out to the sides rather than straight up. It looked to me like the regular version of the Necromancer's robe, the same way the fire and water mages have two versions of their robes. I haven't been able to find it again, which bites.

Things like this make me so curious about how the game was originally conceived. It seems like It probably was meant to have more options for character development, doesn't it?

Oh well, just my silly thoughts on inserts.

The allrounder model is funny insofar as its actions are always written on the screen, it's a debugging model as far as I know.

As for Red Wind the sword - it's the sword of Cor Angar. It's pretty, yes -but he's a nice guy, so please be gentle when (if) you beat him up for it .

rotor_wind is Cor Angar's sword. But he is immortal so you can't get it without inserting it.
Also inserting NPC's Weapons will piss them off if you have them in their presence.

He's immortal? Great, another one for my list.

The NPC's also get all huffy if you steal their weapon and they see you with it.

I'll say, one time I inserted Diego's bow and was walking through the OC wearing it. He spotted me and yelled "Hey, that's my weapon!" He then proceeds to whip out his bow and started shooting. He chased me until I reached the NC and I was able to shake him off. As he walked away, he said "Serves you right, ya thief!"
Touchy.

I think that's pretty cool, though. Only the 'immortal' ones say 'that's my weapon!'... as the game knows that you had to have cheated to get it. If you insert Innos' Rage, Gomez doesn't care... because you can get it off him eventually. Same with a scar's sword and the like. Gorn, Diego, and Lester aren't too happy at all if you parade around with their weapons.

Lares and Cord don't hang well with it either, and unless I'm mistaken, neither of them is immortal.

Right, they're not immortal. They are just simple people . And Lee (another mortal) gets miffed as well if you show him his own axe.

this is not exactly correct. I inserted scar's sword on an early chapter and scar attacked me for carrying his weapon on the first time (in that game) my character met him
