Do YOU think the Addon will be realeased |
|
Hello all.
I'm about to crack. After almost a year of not playing G2, waiting for the addon, I'm going to start to play. But I'll be well annoyed if after all this waiting it gets released in a month. So, I wish to conduct a quick poll :
Do YOU think they will ever release the addon In English?? |

No.
Maybe if it was a full game instead of an addon. But Gothic 2's time has passed in the eyes of pretty much all distributors. So no one will publish it.
PB screwed up by going with Atari, and now its too late. _________________ IMHO my opinion is humble |

PB didn't go with Atari, JoWooD did. _________________ Jaz |

Well, that's not the point Jaz.
Anyway, I allways wanted to see an English forum about the add-on or see some add-on games in my local store.Never mind.I've allready played it.
I hope this thing won't happen with gothic3, otherwise.... . _________________ (Firefox_Mythos)(Παντος)Reaperfox(Ρουβαλης)Tezafox Katsaridoktono(Ντουσικος)Che(Ταγαρης)Crusader(nokos)shadowfox(Μηχελης)aquafox(Στελιος)thunderfox_gomos(Γιωργος) |

I don't think the English expansion will come out. They're just too #@&^+` to do it . _________________ http://kevan.org/brain.cgi?megadav!count |

Don't know, I’ve already seen too many stupid things, in the game's publishing world. _________________ (Firefox_Mythos)(Παντος)Reaperfox(Ρουβαλης)Tezafox Katsaridoktono(Ντουσικος)Che(Ταγαρης)Crusader(nokos)shadowfox(Μηχελης)aquafox(Στελιος)thunderfox_gomos(Γιωργος) |

My gut feeling tells me no. I was a bit worried that I jumped the gun a bit by going for the translation mod instead of waiting. But now I feel that was good decision because here it is -- right in the middle of Fall -- and the English Addon is not avaialble anywhere.
Now here is what I think *might* happen.
6 months or so before the international relase of Gothic 3, Gothic 3's English/International publisher will release a Gothic 2 gold edition that contians G2 + the Addon.
They will market the hell out of it to build up interest in the Gothic franchise before the big bombshell: Gothic 3.
The only wrinkle with this is that this unknown publisher would have to buy International Distrubtion rights for normal G2 from Atari.... _________________ All shall hear the words of Karras...the words of Karras |

It may be a thing of the past for you but it is a thing of the future for me and other ppl. I personally never played the addon but i still have a feeling that one day i will be holding the game in my hands and it will say Gothic II: Night Of The Raven and not Gothic II: Die Nacht Des Raben. _________________ The power of GOLIATH will incinerate you all...and I will control it!!! |

It´s captured in a legal battle between Atari and JoWooD. Six months ago I was sure it would be released. Now I think it will only be released if the legal problems are settled and one of JoWooD´s partners, Koch (UK) or Fluent (USA) wants it. Then they´ll do what they did with The Guild: release a gold edition for 20-25$. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Yeah,
I think it MAY be realeased somewhere down the line as a gold edition, maybe to get interest in G3 going as mentioned. Oh well, looks like I can start playing G2 now then.
Would PB ever "release" it as a download do you reckon, so as not to need a distributer etc? |

No, its not PB's business, but as they had gone to the trouble of making the thing, it seems logical to think they may try to make some cash out of it and so offering it for download would be the easiest way, I imagine. |
