Well if i tell you the truth i didn't understand the end very well.

First the dragon talked to me and said that i am pretty same as him with no parents and all.

And then Xardas show up and take his power.

And on the ship Xardas says somthing about Beliar chosen him like Innos chosen "Me". And that we will meet again.

What did he do really ???

I really liked the *Xardas* part of the ending as well.

And while it does imply that he will become "evil", perhaps its not that simple. He has the power of "Beliar's Avatar", but his *own* free will.

All he said is that "we will meet again.". Who know under what circumstances that could be. He could become an ally again helping you fight an even greater force.

I dunno, I kinda liked having Xardas as sort of this "neutral" dude with semi good leanings.

The uncertainty, is the lure to get you to buy Gothic 3, but then who wouldn't!!

hehe I just won as a paladin also. I had a feeliing that Xardas was not on the up and up and I havent played Gothic 1 yet (controls and lack of good mouse support piss me off) Seems that as I was the "chosen of Innos" Xardas was the chosen of Beliard but was unable to fulfill his destiny in the first gothic

Xardas will not apear in G3, they will want the fans to wonder what happened to him. And they'll put him into G4. He will probably apear during some difficult fight to help you, or what is more probable, to stab you in the back. Ofcourse when he is near his death he will run away just as Irenecus did

I'm not sure that Xardas has turned totally bad. He has the powers of Beliar, he's his chosen one, but he has his own will, and he said that he doesn't adore Beliar more than the nameless hero adores Innos, or something like that.

Xardas was fun as like an ally to the charecter but the way he said "we'll meet again" it sounded evil. Mabey he will go against the king or something but still be an ally to the hero... Hmmmm, im curious! i cant stand it!!!!

Perhaps the tone of his voice was just a consequence of bad voice-acitng?

It is possible, but I don't believe that... no, Xardas is a good lad, he just has some unfinished business and is a little bit egocentric.
Anyway, remember my words. They may proove true.
