in NOTR, as a mage.
how much mana could one have for the most? and how?
in my exprience, level 40 = 400 LP
u can spare at most 300 LP on MANA ( the rest LP has to be on other skills and circle of magic as well as the runes making)
that may enable your mana from 10 to 120
then,besides,I know there is about
1.20 bottles of elixir of spirit (100 mana)
2.stone tablets (42 mana)
3.pray 11 times (each time how much?)
4.rings and amulets (40 mana)
5.staff (20 mana?)
6.quests bonus and books ( at most 15 mana)
SO,are these all? at most 350 mana ?
May Innos gives us more mana of a mage? |

+2 mana from the book "The Devine Power of the Stars"
+2 mana from Coragon's special beer
+20 mana from praying
+42 mana from Stone Tablets
+3 mana from Vatras after freeing the slaves
+1 mana from Lou's Hammer
+50 mana from eating a lot of Dark Mushrooms (try to find them all.)
+3 mana form "Essence der Geistes" (what's the english name? )
+125 mana from home-made potions
+25 mana from Elixers of Spirit (both found and bought)
+5 mana from the Elixer of Spirit that you get when you become a mage
+28 from Old Stone Tablets (Vatras)
+60 from the Priester set and the magic wand
This will give you a total of +306 (+366 temporary) mana in total. So when you train to about 100-120, you'll be able to get more than 450 mana.
Thank you Mondgesaenge.de for the complete list _________________ "Who are we to call this planet Earth, when it's clearly Ocean."

to #2:
In deed. I passed NOTR as a paladin with 1h.
now I just wanna throw the swords away to be a so-called MAGE!
And meanwhile I hate the repeatance of drinking potions....
to#3:

Now I can be determined to strive as a mage and see a picture of mass destuction soon |

Becoming a true magician in NotR is fairly hard, but worth the effort. It's not only more fun to play in my opinion, but you also become incredibly powerful near the end. |

About dark mushrums ...
I took Constantino for my apprenticeship and started giving him all the mushrums I found around.
Then the strange thing happend.
The number of mushroms in Constantino's store doubled every time I traded my mushrums to him (via dialog interface, not store interface, so you have to be his apprentice) but only once per day.
The thing works for me every time but only if I don't look at Constantino's store inventory before I hand him mushroms, after that when looking at Constantino's store invertory mushrums in it are doubled.
Now in my game there is about 4000 dark mushrums there.
Is this a bug or feature ? It smells like a bug because it makes mana training almost useless provided you can get loads of cash to buy these beuties back (and considering other exploit featuring sword forging that isn't a problem). _________________ Mind D mess, Don't mess D mind

It's not a bug, it's an exploit!!
The only time I became an apprentice of Constantino was in G2 (without NotR) and it wasn't in it at that time.
4000 mushrooms, that is a whopping 400 mana! _________________ "Who are we to call this planet Earth, when it's clearly Ocean."

excellent
that's how mage grows!
but I wanna a slight change in the effect of mana potion
like Diablo
each of them resume a different portion of mana
like 30% 50% 80% 100%
otherwise we have to drink 10 bottles of essense mana potion after killing several monsters. Tough! |

I just tried the mushroom thing with a new character. Constantino bought the dark mushrooms at full price but they do not show up in his inventory at all. I have the Gold version, do you have a different version? |

I play Gothic GOLD with NOTR installed.
Other than that
1. Hero is Constantino's apprentice
2. Hero offers shrums (dark and digger's meat) via special dialog option, not
normal TRADE interface
3. After that hero looks at the Constantino's inventory and shrums (both kind) are doubled
4. This (to my knowledge) works only once per day, only if step 3 follows step 2.
If hero looks at the Constantino's inventory prior to step 2 this thing won't work
at least (my guess) till next day. _________________ Mind D mess, Don't mess D mind

There seems to be one more thing required for making doubling dark mushrooms to work.
On my restarted game exploit only worked when I didn't look at Constantiono's inventory prior to becaming his apprentice and offering him mushrooms.
My guess is that this might work again if you beat Constantino and cast Oblivion on him because it seems that this resets NPC (non playable character) inventory and his relation to you.I had a problem with Cord in previous game when he constantly refused to talk to me calling me a filthy thug (I've been a bad boy) but after Oblivion he was friendly again.
Or maybe it will work after chapter change as this also modifes inventories.
My vote goes to casting Oblivion. _________________ Mind D mess, Don't mess D mind
