screen stays black when movie ends

after the movie (not the underwater one, i mean the game's intro) ends, the screen stays black. I cant figure out what's wrong.

Here are my specs:
WinME, ATI Radeon VE 64MB, AMD Athlon 1.2Gigs, DirectX8.1, All the latest Drivers, the latest english patch (1.08k), all sound and weather/fog disabled.

at least i'm not getting the "access violations anymore...

Are the latest drivers the recommended drivers?
Did you try the dualmonitor fix for the Radeon 8500 on your card?
