Have sold instruments early in game, cannot be bought again

Hello !

I have the following question, I started out the game without a bard and sold all the instruments i found in the game to He`li Crock and other merchants. Now I have recuited the umpani bard and wanted to buy the instruments back, but they aren`t sold anymore and do not appear on the respective traders sell-lists !!!!
Any tips or hints ?

If you have camped three times or more (or let a significant amount of time pass without camping), then the vendor will have recycled the inventory from when you last sold stuff to the vendor. Some items will remain that were sold to the vendor, but there is no guarantee that a sold item will show back up in the list. Some items will always be there if you sold them to a vendor, but bard instruments are not in that list.

A suggestion for a future game is to store items in a chest instead of selling them (I know hind-sight is 20-20, right?). What level are your characters? How many bard instruments have you sold? If you are not that far along, then you may want to restart the game (I have restarted seven times before I stuck with a party, and I still have not ascended with this party yet). Or if you have not sold that many instruments, you will find many more useful instruments later.

The real question is whether you've been to the swamp yet. The most useful instrument in the game (IMHO) is found there.

Yah, and the next-most-useful is really close to the swamp. (UMB)

thanks !

Dammit , but thank you nonetheless for the bitter information !

I am already in the Mt. Gigas Underwater Caves have done parts of the T`Rang and Umpani quests and am just to kill Nessie which is kind of difficult for my 13 - Level Party. I have some Instruments left but the best one I think, the one which casts Haste has already been sold i think.
Hargh what a bitter fate. I wanted to take some guys with me wo will ascend and myles, which i had in my party from early on clearly doesnt want that so i wanted to take the umpani bard.

Thanks nonetheless,

L.

??? It's been a LONG time, but I thought the "heal all" one was down in the SE Wilderness.

The Chaos Drone is in the SE Wilderness.

The Dulimer of Mending is in UMB (like otter said) and in the Arnika Roadhouse (from the Umpani Teleporter).

Sure, but I stopped relying on my memory a long time ago. I got that information from a list I created (because of my bad memory).

Actually, i was talking about the Mandolin of the Magus, in the part you can get to without going through the mine. Much more useful than the Heal-All one. Amulets of Healing are the best healing you can get.

And that mandolin does what? Is that the magic screen one? (indulge the senile one )

In all my games, I never found the mandolin. Where is that hidden in UMB?

When you go up the catapult, there are 2 rooms in the grey stone part of the building whose roof you land on. In the room under where you land from the catapult, accessible from the area just before you go out to the courtyard with the T'rang hand and wires (there's a really narrow ramp up to it). There's an Apus in there (Thrasher?) and some Heal and Mana potions, and the Mandolin.

I want to correct my last entry: The Mandolin of tne Magus is in the room architecurally opposite the one with the idol. Everything else is right.
(i was just there in my solo-ninja-first game)
