Welcome to the Dot first off. If you plan to try and use all spells only for battles, yes there might be. But it won't be of much advantage unless that is how you want to play the game. _________________ =Member of the Nonflamers Guild=

I've been playing almost as a pure caster, so I pretty much only use spells in battle. The manual, though, doesn't list any benefit for skills over 100, and none of my stats went up when I tried raising casting from 105 to 120.
Do you know specifically what benefit will be gained from post-100 skills?
Are there good reasons _not_ to play as a pure caster? Well, I've seen one reason so far -- three fireballs at level 4 barely phase a demon at all, and he can kill me in two hits. |

Have you tried the mega mega on the spells? I honestly didn't do it so am not a pro on it. But were discussions here of people having the high skills and getting lots of damage from adding mega and other aspects to spells to create ones not in the standard list.
Try and see and maybe let us know here. Do as game save so you can undo if it doesn't help. It is not your stats that will go up from what I understand it will be the power of the spells. _________________ =Member of the Nonflamers Guild=

In the manual, spell power is always listed as d6*level or something like that. Casting skill doesn't seem to have anything to do with it. Though the manual could be wrong.
Is there an official document that can answer basic questions like this? None of the walkthroughs I've seen say anything about it. |
