Salvation to all Nvidia chipset users!

Happy news for all. Well, it might not be so good news but it will 90% sure improve your FPS +5!Ive got the thing you need here both for Win XP and Win ME. It worked for me, I tested it on Win Me, Ge Force 2 MX, morrowind 1.1(with patch) so dont be mad if it wont work for you. im just trying to help.

Here is what you have to do: Download the drivers for your operating system(they are on the end of this message). Coz im curently on Win XP ill explane how to do it on XP but it should be similar on other OS-es aswell. When you have downed the drivers. Go to Control Panel/System. Go to Hardware tab in System window and choose Device Manager. Expand Display Drivers. Right click on your graphic card and choose Properties. Under properties go to Driver tab and click on Update Driver.
Hardware update Wizard shall open, choose Install from a list or specific location(Advanced) and click Next. On next screen choose Dont search. I will choose a driver to install and click Next. On next screen click on Have Disk, find where you have extracted the drivers you downloaded and click OK. Restart your computer and that should do it.

Im warning you, these drivers are more than 6 months old, install at your own risk. If something goes wrong you can always Roll Back driver.

I think this is supposed to be the list of graphic cards/chipsets that this drivers are made for:

"NVIDIA RIVA TNT2/TNT2 Pro"
"NVIDIA Vanta/Vanta LT"
"NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Ultra"
"NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64/Model 64 Pro"
"NVIDIA GeForce 256"
"NVIDIA GeForce DDR"
"NVIDIA Quadro"
"NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400"
"NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 100/200"
"NVIDIA Quadro2 MXR/EX"
"NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS/GeForce2 Pro"
"NVIDIA GeForce2 Ti"
"NVIDIA GeForce2 Ultra"
"NVIDIA Quadro2 Pro"
"NVIDIA GeForce3"
"NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 200"
"NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 500"
"NVIDIA Quadro DCC"

Download here: Im sorry...I didint had time to upload yet but here are the driver Version and other stuff you are going to need:

Win 95/98/ME = DriverVer = 2.3.1.2
Date = 12/10/2001,
Win 2000/XP = DriverVer = 2.3.1.2
Date = 12/10/2001

Ill upload them tommorow...im realy sleepy now and I probably did something wrong here but im sure ill fix it when I get some sleep. Please post here if these drivers get your performance up(or down), just say your results!

Oh yeah, search for driver VERSION( DriverVer) at www.google.com

Sigh.

The 23.11's are very poor drivers. They're unstable and buggy. I'd advise anymore to not install these. One of the better older drivers are the 22.80's, while the 28/29's series don't have much of a difference between them in terms of peformance or stability.

The 29.40´s and no-cd-exe is the most stable combination on this game I used yet. Framrates are pretty good, and crashes are next to zero. Perhaps one or two in a four hour session, with lots of plugins and the Optimizer running. Non-patched. As the patch sucks.

This is true. But could someone please tell me what the hell Creative are up to? The latest soundblaster live update I´ve found is from like oct 2000 or something like that. And as soundcard-issues are quite common, someone should really give them a kick in the butt!

I have a NVIDIA GeForce Ti 500 and my driver is:

5/3/2002
2.9.4.2

The game does crash, but I am running with the patch. I also use optimizer(i wish that thing would go 3 times the distance) and like 9 plugins.

This is exactly what I have, and the game does crash sometimes. What is the Optimizer?

The morrowind game engine is poor. Although this is a great game and i do play it. I would not advise anyone to buy any game in the future made with this game engine. Every game i own and that includes Jedi Knight2: Jedi Outcast, runs very nice. Its just the game. Nothing will truely make this game run that good.

I think and I hope they will improve it. As far as graphics goes, it is best engine out there.
And there is now new version, better in many ways. I mean newer version than version of MW.

Well maybe i shouldnt have been so blunt about it. I should say.. wait and see how it runs on other peoples systems before you buy it. Thats what i am going to do.

Uh, was anyone else expecting better advice than "upgrade your drivers" ?
I guess some ppl need to be told they have to plug in their computer for it to work though....

Oh crud, I'm being cranky again, but if you haven't heard this advice yet (the manual, official morrowind website, any other game ever...)

I agree with Pinnen, "boo urns!" to creative re the drivers.

Is there a new version of Morrowind? Or are you referring to the engine that Morrowind uses?

Morrowind sure can cram out some really nice graphics.. if the pictures didn't have to move. If this was Myst/Riven/Myst 3: Exile it would be fine, but since it's supposed to be a 3D moving, breathing world it sure needs improvements.
