I love bacon, but you Americans don't usually get the real thing, you only get the cheap cut without the eye. Here, we get the whole rasher. Oh, slightly crisp, but not dried out.

Smoked goose breast - YUM... but it is just flesh. What about smoked salmon or whitefish?

Problem with chewy bacon is all the fat that is left, but if it is too crispy then you get chichironis = blech.

Somewhere inbetween is best.

I agree that, fully.

the lowest form of life depends on what is available, i live in england so i have never had to resort to eating animals, but if it was eat a cat or death, i'd eat the cat (although i doubt i'd enjoy it)

Crispy, no doubt. Mainly because I like it.

I don't eat meat either (similar philosophy to Finarfin, by the sound of it)... but I used to, so I voted crispy. It's been a long time, but I haven't forgotten

Since we're talking about bacon, what's the difference between bacon and Canadian bacon?

It’s a different cut of the animal. Canadian bacon is ham.

I’ve never understood vegetarianism. If I’m eating a steak and I really think about the fact that it is the flesh of a cow then my instinctual reaction is “that is one succulent animal.” Unless of course the steak is some cheap/poor cut.

Me neither, but then again I love meat, with a few exceptions- (I always wanted to use that one!!)

You'd be amazed at how many people refuse to believe that. My little sister worked at Papa John's for several years and she's got some hilarious stories about people who would freak out if she refered to "Canadian bacon" as ham.

Tough to answer with a click.

I like my bacon FAT crispy but with a slight chew. I like the meat slightly chewy with a crisp edge. I'm pretty sure only I can cook it the way I like it. LOL.

If it's "standard" bacon, I like it really crisp, especially if on a sandwich ='.'=

But if its that awesome maple flavored bacon, ill take it a bit chewy!
