It has to be said: I HATE SPAM!!!!!!!!! You can't imagine the flood of spam my mailbox receives. Spam about Mac Hardware ( I don't own one), spam about me being picked as a winner in some shitty sweepstake (I don't play sweepstakes, I make them and I hate them in real life), spam about reducing weight (I am slim), spam for woman only (I am male), spam about viagra (hell, I am potent as ever), spam about how to spam others (I'll hate this spam most).
I just had to say it. Now I feel better *g*

Well, Rend, I think it's on of the unavoidable down sides of being popular and known on the net!
There exist a program (can't remember it's name),which can keep away unwanted mail from specified senders, if it's the same senders who spams your mailbox! |

i found having mutliple email accts that certain oens dont get spammed as much. My yahoo and aol get spammed A LOT. about 40 mails a day of nothing i dont read them anymore. my hotmail never gets spammed(besideds by yahoo) and homestead got spammed just a bit. Having my muliple email on aol i also noticed my other sn never got spammed and i wonder why. IF someone can answer this... i would be grateful

My friends use to say - procmail is your best friend. If you have normal unix account, just send spam to /dev/null

Never give yahoo your alternate email address. Even if you uncheck all the direct advertising options... Every other day I get mortgage loans from somejerk@somearbitraryonlinebusiness.com!

I have pretty much the same type of set-up. Multiple e-mail accounts is the way to go. That and never give out your e-mail address to anyone but family, friends, and newsletters that swear on their granny's grave that they won't give out or sell your e-mail address. Even then, give the newsletter a junk account. |

You can 'block sender' in Outlook Express. On a completly unrelated topic, I am lucky to recieve one e-mail a day.  |

If it would be that easy . Of course, my email is visible on the site. So harversters come and get it. I receive about 30 to 80 mails a day, app. 10 of them are spam. I receive everything from penis enlargement to loans, from "work at home" to "buy this stock", from "hi, I found you email address on a list of surgeons" to "get reich within two weeks".
And there are mails like this:
Sender:xxxxxxxx
Subject: Help!
The game doesn't start. Can you help?
