| i cant use the short bow (i am an absolute beginner) |

i have started this excellent game, and did a few quests in the lomar farm and in the city, collected several thingies. have str 16, dex 20 or so, have skin skill and light armor, purchased from matteo.
i have the short bow and arrows, select in the inventory, but can not use it, after pressing the USE key.
I am capable of using the knife, and have already killed several beasts. |

Hi johnny and welcome to the board,
to make it short. I'm sure you haven't enough dexterity points to use that bow. So you must first earn some exp point and raise your dexterity for using it. Look into the inventory and look what dexterity is needed for using it.

Welcome johnnybravo1
You only need 10 dexterity to use the short bow, so you can use it. Equip it the same way as your sowrd. (Click on it in your inventory) You should see it on your back and the square in your inventory is coloured red.
Now pull it out by pressing "2", "1" will pull out your sword, "2" your bow, "3" your last used rune/scroll and "4" to "0" can be used to pull out several runes/scroll.
To fire hold down Left Mouse Button and press UP-arrow.

It's really good to see a new fan. If you enjoy the game spread the word. Would you like a tip? If you plan to use a bow and therefore train your Dex up, don't train your Strength as well. Use a sword that requires Dex like a rapier or master sword. If you try to train Dex, bow, one-handed AND strength I doubt you'll have enough points, especially with Night of the Raven.
