| How do I kill the fire golem? |
|
I can't seem to kill the fire golem outside Xardas' castle. The walkthroughs I've read described 'ice magic,' 'ice bolts,' or 'ice arrows,' but I can't seem to find any of these spells anywhere. The closest I can find is 'ice block' from Baal Cadar. But it doesn't seem to work. The ice forms around the fire golem, but it just walks out and attacks me. The block also doesn't hurt the golem one bit.
I've even lead the golem into the nearby lake and swamp. Doesn't seem to dampen its flame at all.
Is this a bug? If someone can tell me where I can get these OTHER 'ice' or 'water' spells, please let me know. |

Go visit Cronos (the water mage in front of the ore mound in the New Camp). Buy some water spells (ice bolt or the lightening spells) and those will work.

No, if you haven't come across ice arrows, then there are none. I got that terminology from a translation of a German walkthrough for Gothic. Must have meant ice bolts or something. |

Ball Lightning, Ice Bolts (in my experience) are far too weak.

Ball Lightning works best for the Fire Golem. One fully charged, and one half-charged hits will KO it. Ice Block has a very low possibility to hit the Fire Golem, so mostly it won't damage it at all.

Yeah! Got him down with ice bolts! It does a bit of damage, but fast enough so the golem doesn't get to move. Heh 
Funny though... shouldn't you be able to kill a fire golem by making it walk into a lake? It still burns as usual underwater... but the water doesn't boil. |
