hmm... i abso-freakin-lutely refuse to play G2 until i have the Night Raven expansion. reason is, i only play every game once, and then im done with it. so i guess this means i should just buy the game soon and put it on the shelf for now... i hope i dont have to wait a whole year...

Look it this way…G2 is one game and NOTR is another. Besides, each guild has their quests that can only be done when you join that particular guild. Playing G2 once is like playing 1/3rd of the game.

I'm like you Ammon.

I've had G2 sitting at home for a few months now waiting for the addon to come out in England.

I Know there will be different quests in the addon and different ways to do the old stuff, but you'll still be exploring the same world for most of it, so I'm gonna wait for the addon and play it all through once so its all fresh and new.

Balancing is completely different. If you wait for the add-on you wonŽt see the original game.
NotR plays in chapters 1 & 2. There are even short cuts to speed joining a guild up. If you play G2 now and then the add-on with a different guild youŽll probably have less than 10 hours redundant gameplay. When youŽre through you can still decide if you want to go on.

I'm the same

I usually play a game only once. I can coun't the games on one hand that I played more than once.

But G2 will be one of the few games I play twice. I'm playing now as a Mercenary. Will play again with the expansion as a mage.

G2 is such a great game, it will be worth playing twice. Plus, the second time through is a lot faster because you know the layout of the land.

100% sure. There are so many small and big changes, they have to patch. The German game was patched from 1.30 to 2.50 and then 2.50a and 2.60. The add-on was very buggy.

DonŽt count on it. I played for 70 hours (plus reloads) to reach early chapter 5.

The mage career is hard in this more hostile world.

To get the full "scope" of the game, you should play it through thrice, each with different guild as main - mercenary, paladin and mage. Then you can say you played through it completely. Any other way is only half way...

fer crissakes, too much forethought for me. It's a game just play it!

If any RPG has replayability it's Gothic so don't worry about it.
